The Tale of a Toothbrush: A Story of Plastic in Our Oceans by M. G. Leonard, illustrated by Daniel Rieley. Children use a toothbrush twice a day and replace it every few months — that is billions of toothbrushes. This one follows its own after it is thrown away, out to sea and into a world of plastic characters: pirate-ship bottles, dancing shampoos and one very inquisitive albatross.

A funny, warm picture book about where our plastic actually ends up, and what a toothbrush that takes thousands of years to break down means for the planet. From the author of the Beetle Boy books. Suggested ages 4–8.
